This is something I did for my fluid mechanics final project on ANSYS Fluent 14. So the idea was to understand the flow behavior in an aerosol sampling probe from a larger source medium. The normal to the inlet of the probe and the direction of flow in primary sampling zone affects the sampling alot. I finally used "Tracers" to determine how the tiny aerosol particles will respond to the change in flow.

Dark Knight's Helm: Final
Finally, done with the complete helm of Dark Knight aka Batman. I hope i have done justice to it. It was real fun completing this and has given me confidence to make more helms, probably Iron man being next. It was really fin playing with the splines and surfaces on this project. The eye holes and mouth space were done using the trim surface feature.
So here is the final stuff, hope you like it.
P.S. Batman belongs to DC comics. This particular solidworks rendition belongs to me.

Dark Knight's Helm : Teaser
This is the Solidworks simple version before rendering.
This one is after rendering. I used a Low gloss black plastic look.

Novel Keyholder Design: Inspired by Swiss Knife
I never liked those leather keyholder pouches which tear, tatter and become shabby over time. But, I had an idea of a swiss knife type of key holder. Wonder if you could just press a button a swoosh your key comes out. Also, it's handy, small and has a better product life than it's counterpart.
Based on this though I created a 3D Solidworks model of the design concept. It would be a spring loaded button actuated that involves a twist so as to push the key out. They key after use can be driven back to it's place with a slight push.
So here are some pics of the design.

Automotive Components
1. Upright Design for an FSAE vehicle.
These designs were made by me on Solidworks platform for FSAE competition purposes. A stress analysis for the same is shown in the top-left image. The upright features mounts for brake calliper and toe/tie rod. The analysis was done for Al 7075 alloy.
2. Shock Absorber:
This spring loaded shock absorber is a replication of the motorcycle shock absorber used by my team in the vehicle for the FSAE competition. The design was made for presentation purposes only. Though using spring material and assembly configuration a stress analysis and displacement analysis could be done for the same.
