Ball Bearing

I designed this component in my Machine Design class in under graduation but never made a CAD file of it. Finally, I succeeded in doing this and as a bonus created a short video on it's motion by putting a rotary motor to the inner ring with a 10 RPM constant speed. I hope you enjoy this.

Novel Keyholder Design: Inspired by Swiss Knife

I never liked those leather keyholder pouches which tear, tatter and become shabby over time. But, I had an idea of a swiss knife type of key holder. Wonder if you could just press a button a swoosh your key comes out. Also, it's handy, small and has a better product life than it's counterpart.

Based on this though I created a 3D Solidworks model of the design concept. It would be a spring loaded button actuated that involves a twist so as to push the key out. They key after use can be driven back to it's place with a slight push.

So here are some pics of the design.

Automotive Components

1. Upright Design for an FSAE vehicle.

These designs were made by me on Solidworks platform for FSAE competition purposes. A stress analysis for the same is shown in the top-left image. The upright features mounts for brake calliper and toe/tie rod. The analysis was done for Al 7075 alloy.

2. Shock Absorber:

This spring loaded shock absorber is a replication of the motorcycle shock absorber used by my team in the vehicle for the FSAE competition. The design was made for presentation purposes only. Though using spring material and assembly configuration a stress analysis and displacement analysis could be done for the same.

Iron Man Suit in the Making

So I have undertook the task to replicate the Iron Man suit on Solidworks. I'm done with the first Stage, which was getting a skeleton / mannequin to form the base of the suit. Next Stage is the Chest  and the Back plate covering the Torso followed by arms and legs and the Mask at the end.

I hope it turns out to be as similar to the real suit. Here is the mannequin I made, not too classy, just a basic human replica to form the base structure.

Stay tuned for other parts of the Armour and the final assembly.

*** There is one more design I am working on which I will post directly, when it's done. Hope you like that too. ***

A blast from the past

It's been a long time since something fresh was posted, sorry about that. I moved across the world so was a bit occupied, otherwise.

I was going through some of my previous designs and felt like sharing this. So this is just a basic exploded view of the Tyre, Brake calliper, Brake Disc and the Alloy wheel. But the alloy wheel is entirely my creation, so that's new..

Anyways have a look at it and I'll soon post some new stuff.
